Heidi - Shetland Ponies

As you know I own three lovely Shetland Ponies. I only used COMPOSE when transporting them and on another occasion for a visit to the vet for a vaccination. All went very well.

Recently, the vet came to do their teeth. Normally, this visit ends up with an upset vet, stressed out ponies and an exhausted me!

However, on this occasion I decided to give each pony the recommended amount of COMPOSE, one and half hours before the planned treatment. I lead them over to the main stable yard where they have never been before. Usually, I keep the ponies 24/7 out on a field. They were well behaved and calm during the journey. Amazingly, even the road traffic and a flock of loud calling guinea fowls running around did not disturb them.

The vet came on time and started to treat my very sensitive chestnut pony, Lancelot. He is normally the worst of them all. But he stood quite calm and made no attempt to rear up or run off. He kept his mouth open and the vet could even kneel in front of him without being attacked. This meant that the work on the teeth was accomplished very quickly.

The second pony, Simba, is the smallest. He stood even more relaxed with a nicely opened mouth and the vet could kneel comfortably beside him to do his teeth.

Finally, my mare, Penmor, who does not normally open her mouth, opened it willingly and the treatment was also completed in a short time.

It took the vet just over thirty minutes to treat all three of them. The ponies were all relaxed, calm and a pleasure to handle. They did not even show signs of an increased heartbeat.

On our return to the yard they got a quick wash and I led them back over to their field. It is not always easy to lead all three of them down a small busy road with not much space. They are often confronted with racing cars whose drivers do not slow down to consider the animals. The traffic did not bother them at all. Many thanks for introducing COMPOSE to me which has proved very helpful at all times.

Kind regards,

Heidi

Nervous Ponies

Horse Running

Last Friday I moved to another stable with my 14 year old Hanoverian gelding. Prior to the journey I gave my horse Compose. I was astonished by the effect which it had on my horse and hardly recognized him. He stepped into the trailer totally at ease, as if he did it every weekend; his last trailer trip was almost three years ago. Unloading was no issue either, he behaved like a pro – previously he would storm out backwards from the trailer. On arrival he surveyed his new surroundings and was really laid back. This is very unusual for him because he is normally extremely excitable and nervous.

I had advised the stable owner that the horse would be hyperactive and difficult to handle. In the past he would need at least two days to calm down, but to my astonishment he behaved exceptionally well. His good behaviour continued, even when we let him join the herd. We imagined this procedure would take several days, but he stayed calm and was friendly to the other horses.

In the evening I fed him half a scoop of Compose, so that he would stay relaxed during the night in the open stable. This was a very good start to our new home. My horse’s stress-free attitude and uncomplicated adaption to his transport and new home made a positive impression on the other horse owners.

Next week I plan to ride him in unfamiliar terrain for the first time – I will of course give him Compose beforehand.

Deborah G. - Horse Trainer

Dear Lifedata,

I spoke with Susan Holt with life data on the phone. I had a story to share with her of an Arabian gelding that's here at my facility for training. I am a natural horse trainer.

Well, when he arrived from a breeder in Ohio, he was a wreck. He came on Friday and by Sunday I had the vet out here.

He had a syndrome called equine self-mutilation. And he had it big time. He was chewing up his flanks and his coronary bands on the rear. He would throw himself on the ground, slam into the panels, spin outa control, try to jump out, and also kick out violently with his back legs. It was unreal................and I had to train him.

I started him on Compose two weeks ago and he has totally changed. Now he still has fits but nothing like they were. At times he'll be going into one and stop and think about it and won’t do it. His training is going great! I'll start riding him on Monday.

I could write all day about the changes in this horse. I can't thank you enough lifedata for all the research you do to put out top notch products like this. I also use Farriers Formula. I've been using your products for 4yrs now.

Naturally,

Pete D.

This is me with my friend's 10 year old gelding who has had issues for some time with visits from the dentist.

He would use his size and weight to put his head in the air or just move people around. He had previously been sedated by the vet to complete the task, (which was upsetting for him and the owner when he was coming round) or let down by various dentists, from either an overpowering point or doing a partial job then never to return. It had therefore been a while since they were done properly.

As she had previously used 'Compose' it was therefore tried again and as you can see from the photo the horse is willingly stood, allowing the dentist to use the power tool - happy days for all involved!

The brilliant aspect of 'Compose 2x' is that it doesn't affect the horse like a sedative would, and just prior to the dentist arriving she had ridden him to prove that it is possible to do this whilst being fed!

Mike,

I also wanted to give you an update about the supplement Compose. We put one of our lesson horses on it that gets nervous in the stall. He would dance around and completely destroy his stall each day. In addition, he made the beginning riding students a little nervous. We decided to give the supplement a chance and see if it helped to calm him down some.

I was very impressed because we started to see a difference in only three days. He would stand quietly in the stall. The students enjoyed him much better too because he wasn't weaving back and forth intimidating them. We have finished the supply of Compose and the horse has remained calmer in the stall. We have started to see some of it coming back.

Thank you so much for all of your help and support!
